Rascal Children's Theater is thrilled to announce our return to The Side Project in Rogers Park!

Rascal Children's Theater is again in residence at The Side Project.  Our third season will feature two new adaptations and the return of a Rascal favorite!

The season will open on Valentines Day with a remounting of Barbara Lhota's The Nerdy Girl and the Intergalactic Dog.  Lhota has reworked the play and included some new music by John Sparks, the Artistic Director of Theatre Building Chicago.  Returning to reprise their original roles are Lisa Herceg, Eric S. Prahl, Hayley Rice, and Dan Foss.  New to the cast are Jenn SavaRyan, Brett Lee, and Morgan Manasa.  Performances are Saturdays at 1pm at The Side Project, 1439 W. Following Nerdy Girl is a world-premiere adaptation of the Scottish folk tale Tam Lin, directed and adapted by Megan Schutt.  This story of a young girl fighting to save her true love from an evil fairy queen features Kyle Cobb, Marissa Cowsill, Elliott Fredland, Khaki Pixley, Lisa Siciliano, and John Stiens.  Performances are Saturdays at 1pm from April 25 through May 16.  Tickets are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/50471.
Our season will close with a new play by Eric S. Prahl and Dan Foss:  Spinning Yarns: A Journey Through Legends.  A storyteller leads the audience through a series of folk tales from other cultures, using audience members in various roles.  Performances are Saturdays at 1pm from July 18 through August 8.  Tickets are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/50473.
